We praise God for the commencement of a regular Gospel meeting at Saidi this Lord’s Day.
Although Brother Goodson has been conducting a regular mid-week Bible study and Children’s work in Thondwe for several years, relocating those to the Saidi site when we purchased it in 2020, there has not been a regular meeting for Gospel preaching until now.
Anna writes:
I am thankful for a safe and positive trip to Dzaleka.
Please continue praying for the hope of Christ to shine in the hearts of these dear people, especially through the Bibletime curriculum (phase two to begin shortly).
Note: We introduced Swahili language Bible Time lessons at the Dzaleka Refugee Camp last year. This project has been very successful and has been a very useful pilot for the Chichewa work which is in advanced stages of development.
Stephen & Harold have been on the road for several days last week, supplying Gospel literature and visiting the projects SALT has an interest in at Lilongwe and Dzaleka.
At Mchesi, Lilongwe, around 300 street kids and vulnerable adults receive a simple but nutritious meal daily. Without it, most would have to scavenge or starve. It was a joy to be able to share the Gospel with them as they waited for their food on Thursday afternoon.
Anna asks that we give thanks for the good-sized group of preteens and teens at the Saturday Bible study. They listened well. Please continue to pray for their salvation.
Note: Brother Goodson has a weekly Bible study for children and young people. This has grown to the extent that it has been split into two separate groups.
Give thanks with us for some progress towards resolving our long-standing vehicle troubles.
We were recently given a gift an Isuzu Double Cab Pick-up truck, almost identical to the one which has been in the repair shop for over three years. The gifted vehicle is 20 years old but had been laid up for the last 5 years. Rodents had done a lot of damage to the electrical wiring, but it was otherwise very well maintained. We give thanks that Joel has been able to repair this damage. He’s also given the clutch and brakes an overhaul and reports that the car is working well. This has involved yet further spending on vehicle maintenance, but we are very hopeful that we will have a good, working vehicle.
We have much to thank the Lord for as we review progress of the building work at Saidi so far. Thanks to the hard work of the building team, and brother Goodson’s diligent oversight, a lot has been accomplished since we started less than two years ago.
We are so thankful for the safe and speedy arrival of a pallet of security equipment we airfreighted out just after Easter.
Pray with us as we endeavour to get this installed as quickly as possible.
We all continue to be moved by the needless loss of life and terrible humanitarian crisis occurring in Ukraine. We give thanks for faithful believers ministering to those in need.
However, we ought not to forget the untold millions of the world’s poor who are born into insufferable hardship. They live every day of their lives in hopeless despondency.
Please continue to pray for Anna as she continues her recovery after her break-in and assault earlier this month.
Stephen & Gail spent several days with Anna over the past couple of weeks, including two nights at Cape Maclear on Lake Malawi. They were able to discuss various short and medium-term options. We give thanks for the kindness of lovely believers who allowed us to stay at their resort completely free of charge.

We are thankful that the Land Cruiser has proved fairly reliable for Stephen & Gail’s trip, with only some relatively minor electrical problems to deal with. After successive mechanical problems with the car, this is a real blessing, especially as they have travelled almost 2000Km already on this trip.
On Friday morning it passed a major milestone when the odometer clocked half a million (hard!!) kilometers.
