A Buzz about Bible Time

There’s a real buzz in the air today as we have just received the very first complete Nthawi ya Baibilo (Chichewa, Bible Time) series back from the designer.

This represents months of long, often tedious work by Anna, Wati and the whole translation team, and is another massive step forward in the work of the Lord in Malawi.

Stephen started this project some years ago, but it stalled due to the frustrations of the pandemic in particular. Credit is due to our fantastic team on the ground for bringing the project so much nearer to fruition.

The two booklets we have received form a complete year’s Level 2 lessons. There are three more levels at final revision stage, and once we receive those, and the teachers’ manuals, we will be ready to roll out. The team is working hard to be ready within the next few months. We are very grateful for the support of the BES Team with this phase of the project.

Then the process will start again for the following two years’ books. So there is still much work to be done.

Just over six months ago we started a pilot project using Swahili Bible Time lessons with the refugee children at the Dzaleka Camp. This has already been a huge success. We will be able to apply much of what we have learned when establishing the Chichewa work.

We expect demand for these lessons to be massive and this ministry will require considerable resources, so please keep this valuable work in your prayers.

Here’s what the buzz is about:
