Stephen asks that we join in giving thanks for his safe return and for a very profitable trip to Malawi. Although he landed in Addis Ababa in a very serious rain and lightning storm, the return journey was otherwise long, but uneventful.
A primary purpose of the trip was to attend the 4-day Child Safeguarding training conducted by Tehila Zambia. The whole team wholeheartedly agreed that this was a very helpful course. We give thanks for a short break in the weather which allowed the training to go off with no weather-related interruptions. Most days either side of the training, there were prolonged periods of very heavy, monsoon rain.
During his visit, Stephen was also able to meet with the project architect in Malawi and to have a drone survey of the site carried out. The output from this is very detailed and will be extremely useful in the production of site plans etc.
The trip also gave opportunity to discuss / plan future strategies for the development of various areas of the work – of which there will be more later (DV).
