Weather-related Gospel Literature distribution difficulties in Malawi

We are so thankful for the arrival and discharge of a large consignment of Gospel Literature – 1,000,000 Gospel Calendars and 1,5000,000 Gospel Tracts. A large portion of the Gospel Tracts are brand new designs for Malawi.

Now the real work begins with bulk distribution by commercial courier to our various Regional Storage Depots in Nsanje (seriously affected by Tropical Storm Ana), Mulanje, Lilongwe, Kasungu & Mzuzu, as well as our main hub at Saidi, Thondwe.

Once the literature has been moved to the regional storage, Brothers Harold & Goodson oversee the supply of our widespread network of volunteer distributors. Over the years, the kindness of the Lord’s people has enabled us to gradually improve our capability. Brother Harold now has a small Station Wagon type car, and the small used Mitsubishi truck we recently imported from Japan has been a great blessing, in spite of numerous maintenance issues.

Recent extreme weather has made the task of distributing such a large volume of literature even more complicated than usual. Many roads are impassable, and some have even been washed away. In the villages, the ground underfoot has become very muddy and some villages are completely inaccessible by road.

Volunteer Distributors

SALT’s vision is to Enlighten, Encourage and Empower local believers to fulfil their part in the Great Commission. We consider it a privilege to be able to supply a growing network of hundreds of local brothers and sisters with the Gospel material they need to reach their friends, family and wider communities. Most are simply people with very limited means. During our recent online broadcast Brother George Green described cycling 5 hours in each direction, on a borrowed bicycle, to collect Gospel literature for distribution in his locality. He are humbled and honoured to work with such tireless “soldiers of the cross”.
