Points for Prayer & Thanksgiving

  • Pray: Consignment of Calendars and Gospel Tracts

Please pray for a large consignment of calendars and Gospel Tracts which is due to arrive and be discharged shortly. This will entail a lot of work for the local brothers and prayer is requested for journeying mercies and the stamina and other resources necessary, and that the the literature will be a real blessing to many souls.

  • Pray: School Visits

Brother Harold advises that school visits will be restarting next week and ask the Lord’s people to pray for help and blessing. Each child hears a short Gospel presentation and receives a gift of an exercise book with a Gospel message on the cover.

  • Pray: For blessing from the online broadcast

We are thankful for a good audience for the online broadcast on 3 Jan. Pray that the hearts of God’s people will be stirred as they consider the importance of the uncompleted commission. Pray too that more will be concerned to pray about the work of the Lord in Malawi.

  • Pray: Destruction of Msasa

Please pray following the lightning strike and destruction of the Msasa on 3 Jan. This has the potential to really discourage the workers on the ground, who had begun to really benefit from the msasa, especially now that the rains have arrived. In a community riddled with superstition, it also has the potential to disrupt the spiritual side of the work.

  • Pray: Rains are very late

Rains usually expected mid-November have only just arrived in Malawi in the past few days, meaning that a significant part of the crop is only being planted when it should already be knee-high. Others who planted when there was a brief false-start in `November have already lost what they sowed.

  • Give thanks for God’s blessing on the Christmas program

A wonderful Christmas program. Very many children attended and received a wholesome meal, a gift of some basic necessities (rice, soap, coming oil, etc) as well as hearing a presentation of the Gospel

  • Pray: Guidance in the New Year

Clear direction with the many opportunities as we move into the new year. There are many open doors and we feel the need to be guided as we plan for the months ahead

  • Pray: Preservation from Covid-19

Covid case numbers are riding in Malawi, as elsewhere. Healthcare facilities are poor and vaccination rates alarmingly low. Some of the team have recently been unwell, some have tested positive. They request that you pay for continued well-being for thenselves, families and communities in these times of COVID.

  • A Sad Day at Saidi

We had hoped to be celebrating the Lord’s goodness in the progress of the project at Saidi, but 3 January turned out to be a sad day at Saidi. A lightning strike mid-afternoon set the structure of the Msasa alight, and before long it was fully ablaze, despite the torrential rain.

  • We are so optimistic!

Harold’s optimism and enthusiasm is infectious. Hear more from Harold, Goodson and others during our live event on 3 January @ 7.30pm GMT
