Anna asks us to continue to pray regarding her work permit.

She says, “I have been told it is in the final stages, but there is a new minister who needs to get orientated with her new job and take care of the backlog”

Brother Stephen plans to depart on 24th Feb for his first 2022 trip to Malawi.

Brother Jim plans to join Stephen the following week, Lord willing.

This visit will be mainly practical. There are plans to be made for the rebuilding of the msasa and further developments on the site, as well as long-overdue visits to be made to meet the prison authorities.

They also plan to visit relief programs in Lilongwe and Dzaleka.

Please pray for them as they make preparations, and while they are away – for a safe and profitable trip, for the glory of God.

Please pray for John, one of the site workers at Saidi, who collapsed a couple of days ago and has been in hospital since.

Update: Give thanks! Goodson updated me yesterday (9 Feb) that Mr Chitenje has been discharged from hospital and is feeling much better. Thanks for praying.

Anna asks for prayer regarding the upcoming trip to Lilongwe.

Pray particularly for:

  • Safety on the roads

The Government of Malawi estimates that almost 220,000 (48,000 households) are affected in Malawi. The worst affected areas are in the Mulanje and Nsanje districts. These are both areas where we have active literature distribution volunteers.

The Government has declared a State of Disaster in the affected areas.

Please pray:

  1. Concerning the needs of those affected. Anna specifically asks that many will be spoken to by the flooding situation.
  2. That SALT personnel will have the necessary wisdom and guidance to formulate an appropriate response.

Some of our neighbours in the area immediately around Saidi have been affected by the heavy rains. We are considering how best to help them. Many people will have been affected by loss of crops and livestock.

Dumisani, one of the workers operating the block moulding, machine has injured a finger this morning.

Please pray for him, and for the health and safety of other workers on the site.

I don’t know many more details.
