It’s taken a long time, but we are now the happy owners and possessors of a new (to us) 3T truck.
It’s planned to use this on the construction site and for literature distribution to help relieve our serious logistical problems.

Anna & Harold continue their regular, weekly school visits.
Each student hears a short Gospel presentation and receives a gift of a an Exercise Book. These are highly prized as schools are generally very poorly resourced. Many students sit on the bare floor as there are insufficient desks and chairs.
The exercise books have a simple Gospel Message based on Acts 16v31 printed on the cover, and over the past couple of months almost 10,000 students have received a copy, meaning almost 10,000 children have received a clear and simple presentation of the Gospel.
What a blessing to be back with the brothers and sisters in Malawi!
I arrived in time to join the monthly get together of workers at Goodson’s house at the Saidi project site. It’s a joy to see how well the team is gelling. It’s obvious that the Lord of the Harvest has brought His labourers together in His harvest field.
According to Forbes the world’s wealthiest just got richer to the tune of $5 Trillion, with a new billionaire being created every 17 hours, on average, during the pandemic.
Brother Stephen has just returned from a most encouraging visit to Malawi – his first since February 2020. The main reasons for this trip were (1) to help Anna (Vallance) get settled into her new home and environment, (2) to “eyeball” the project site at Saidi for the first time (Bros. Harold & Goodson had been our eyes and ears through the entire process of buying the land), and (3) to meet and encourage many of SALT’s partners in the work in Malawi. With the gracious help of the Lord, Stephen was able to accomplish what he set out to do.
We are happy to provide the recordings of a very successful report day on Sat 21/3/2021
Like everyone else, the work of the Trust has been adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, but we are grateful to the Lord that none of the directors or local volunteers have so-far contracted the illness.
It’s always a joy to stop at Dedza Pottery – one of my favourite spots, anywhere – to break the journey between Lilongwe and the south. The air is cool, they do the best Chicken Curry for miles around, and we’ve been enjoying Dedza Delights with great Malawian coffee since first we came to the country. A great watering hole.
This time was particularly special as we met with a group of brothers from Chidewere, some of whom have attended our Bible Teaching conferences, and who have started to gather together for Bible study and prayer.

These dear men were anxious to begin functioning as a Scriptural assembly, and over lunch we were able to point out the simple principles upon which the early disciples met together – Receiving the Word, Baptism, the Apostles’ Doctrine, Fellowship, Breaking Bread & Prayers.
It was a real thrill to learn a few days ago that they have since begun to break bread together is accordance with the New Testament pattern.
MGO has been challenging and encouraging to me, both of which are personal answers to prayer!
Visiting the prison today (Tues 13th) was emotional for me for many reasons, but I didn’t expect to actually cry and I did a few times during the gospel message that Jim shared with the the men and women there. I watched one male prisoner specifically because when Jim first stood up to speak I noticed he laughed and continued talking to his friends. But as the message of the gospel continued I watched the prisoner’s face become very focused, he stopped joking around and seemed to really listen to what Jim and Harold were saying.
Obviously, I don’t know what that man was thinking or feeling, but just to watch his change in attitude as he heard the gospel was a great personal reminder of the power of God’s word!

In our March 2019 News Update we reported on our recent visit to Malawi, and the progress made in developing the Prison work there. We also mentioned briefly the mechanical issues with Stephen’s truck, and the negotiations to purchase a development site near Thondwe – more later.
