  • MGO 2020

We are excited to announce provisional dates for MGO 2020, which will be from 1st to 15th August (subject to final confirmation).

  • Happy children this Christmas

I just received these photos of the children at Dzaleka enjoying a good meal thanks, at least in part, to the kindness of. so many Christians who are giving to help feed them.

  • Remember this Christmas

We wish you all a very Happy Christmas. This is a good time to remember the many who are not blessed with the material things we take for granted. This dear old lady was just so grateful when I met her a few days ago that she would be getting a roof – we’ve been rebuilding her home since it was destroyed by the cyclone, but in the meantime she has been sleeping on her grass mat within the newly-constructed walls, but under the canopy of heaven.

  • A New Motorcycle for Goodson

3 years ago a young Canadian sister’s sacrifice enabled us to purchase a small, Chinese motorcycle for brother Goodson. It was “cheap and cheerful”, but has proved to be an amazing blessing to the work. Not surprisingly, frequent use on poor dirt roads had begun to take its toll, and despite Goodson’s best efforts to maintain it, the bike has been giving real problems lately, and maintaining it seems like throwing good money after bad. We were recently contacted by a young brother who expressed his burden to help Goodson with a bigger, stronger and more reliable motorbike, better suited…

  • Interested in volunteering your medical / dental / related skills?

Prisoner welfare in Malawi suffers greatly due to resource constraints, with clinics under-funded and under-staffed. Encouraged by the great response to our annual MGO effort, SALT is considering the possibility of assembling a small team of health practitioners to conduct a series of mobile clinics within some of the prisons that we operate in.

  • Post-MGO

Irving & Sheryl proceeded to Chitokoloki, Zambia from Malawi and have been visiting with Shawn & Rhonda Markle and family. They have been visiting some local Christians to give some food relief. Safe home, guys!

  • An MGO veteran reflects

This trip to Malawi has been very precious in so many ways. It was a real joy to serve the Lord in a small way with this MGO team in Malawi. What a wonderful opportunity to tell precious souls of the love of our Heavenly Father. We have so much to praise the Lord for. After reflecting about this trip on our return home, I think the bible verse that seems so fitting is, ‘But, as for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord’ (Joshua 24 v 15). A call, followed by that choice to serve the Lord…

  • MG (O)ver

Each successive MGO generates its own special memories and MGO 2019 has been no exception. We’ve had an outstanding team of different, but complementary personalities, all of whom have made a very positive contribution to the overall effectiveness of this outreach. Many have made significant sacrifices of time, energy and expense to be with us, and we appreciate their efforts enormously. Most are now home (some after marathon journeys) or enroute like ourselves, and we will all value your prayers for journeying mercies for those who still have some miles to cover, either by road or air. Remember Anna and…

  • I didn’t expect to cry

MGO has been challenging and encouraging to me, both of which are personal answers to prayer! Visiting the prison today (Tues 13th) was emotional for me for many reasons, but I didn’t expect to actually cry and I did a few times during the gospel message that Jim shared with the the men and women there. I watched one male prisoner specifically because when Jim first stood up to speak I noticed he laughed and continued talking to his friends. But as the message of the gospel continued I watched the prisoner’s face become very focused, he stopped joking around…
