Anna writes,
-The translator is almost finished with the next phase of BES translation!
-The Bibletime participants seem to be enjoying the booklets. The group of teens is slowly but surely growing, and I’m encouraged by some who are very consistent.
Give Thanks/Pray – Visit to Pa Mchenga Camp & Other Items
Wati writes, “The team visited the evacuation camp at Pa Mchenga on 31/03/23. A short gospel message was shared, and some food items were given. We can pray for the families there who all listened attentively.”
The other work is ongoing, Bible studies (kids and adults) Sunday meetings.
We are doing a little more finishing work on the msasa (plastering etc)

Give Thanks: Cyclone Survivors at Lisao Camp hear the Gospel
An improvement in the weather towards the end of last week allowed Stephen & Harold to access the Lisao Camp to distribute desperately needed food aid.
Give thanks: Bible time in use at Saidi
Anna says, Give thanks for some positive news: We started Bibletime with the little kids today.
Note: After so much negative news in the past week, it’s wonderful to see the spiritual work resuming at Saidi.
Give thanks: Bible class for secondary students
Anna says: Give thanks for those who came to the first Bible class for secondary students today. This is a group I’ve long been burdened for because they aren’t really covered in any of our other classes, but until now I lacked the confidence in Chichewa.
The Bibletime curriculum is already proving to be a blessing in that regard.
Please pray for God’s word to bear fruit in these lives.
Give Thanks: Very useful trip to Malawi (Stephen)
Stephen asks that we join in giving thanks for his safe return and for a very profitable trip to Malawi. Although he landed in Addis Ababa in a very serious rain and lightning storm, the return journey was otherwise long, but uneventful.
Give thanks: Child Protection Training
Please give thanks for the hugely successful 4-day child protection training we did on site at Saidi last week.
This was very enlightening concerning the depth and extent of the problem of child abuse, and extremely informative on ways to address the issues in an African context.
Please pray too that what we have learnt will really inform the way we interract with children, and that it may ultimately result in outreach opportunities in our community.
Thokozani: Nthawi Ya Baibulo yafika!
Yes – “Give Thanks: The Nthawi ya Baibulo (Bibletime) books have arrived” from the printer.
Anna adds:
PRAYER REQUEST
Please pray for the five groups including us who will be using the curriculum, for help to get comfortable and use it prayerfully to ground children in the truth of the gospel.
Note: This is a very significant moment for the team who have been involved in the painstaking work of translation for well over a year now. This is Year 1 of 3. The experience gained from this should enable the process to go more smoothly in the future as the next two years’ material is translated.
Give Thanks/Pray: Progress with Nthawi Ya Baibulo (Bibletime)
Anna says: It has been so exciting to see how the Lord has been moving things along with the Bibletime curriculum. Please give thanks with us that the work of printing the first Chichewa lessons is already underway.
Give Thanks: Journeying mercies
Wati says: “We can thank God for journeying mercies for Harold and Goodson as they travelled over the past two weeks meeting with distributors and giving out literature. The roads are already dangerous and can be particularly so in the rainy season.
