Anna writes: “We are thankful to a good start to school visits. The door is wide open and the labourers are few. Please pray for more labourers!

“We are also thankful for our first Emmaus students completing their first courses. Please pray that we would truly see the power of God’s word at work in lives.”

Join with us in giving thanks that we were able to begin visiting schools again, as of today. We thank the believers who contributed to the school packs. They were received with much excitement and jubilation today. Pray God’s word will be received as well.

Note: Resumption of School visits was delayed due to last month’s Presidential election. We are grateful that, although there was much concern about the possibility of violence, the election passed off peacefully, although various aspects of the work to continue.

Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about helping with Classroom packs.

Anna writes: Join with us in giving thanks for a number of people enrolling in Emmaus this week – both locally and a bit further afield. Please pray for the word of God to do a mighty work in their lives. For those who are not saved – salvation! For those who are – growth!

Note: We recently revised, reprinted and relaunched the entire range of Emmaus courses in Chichewa. We are very optimistic about the potential of these courses, primarily aimed at adults, to complement the Nthawi ya Baibulo range of courses for children.

Anna writes: “We are very thankful for a peaceful election. This means school work can officially begin!”

Note: 85 yr-old former President Peter Mutharika has been declared the winner. His last election victory in 2019 was declared null and he lost the re-run in 2020. His first term of office was overshadowed by numerous corruption scandals, but such has been the economic decline over the past 5 years, the Malawian people have turned to him in desperation in the hope that he can turn the economy around.

Please pray for an improvement in the country’s economic situation and for relief for the awful hardships that many have been experiencing.

Please give thanks for the arrival of the long-awaited container which was shipped from Toronto in September.

The shipment contains various tools and equiment as well as supplies for use in the growing CHildren’s ministries, but was delayed at the port in Mozambique and again briefly in Malawi. It has now cleared customs and the goods are due to arrive at Saidi on Monday, Lord willing.

Continue to pray for the shipment of garage doors presently in transit.

Pray

As Anna asks us to give thanks for “A very profitable and smooth conference” she also requests prayer “for the next few weeks, which will be pretty busy with training sessions. Pray for stamina, wisdom and guidance. Pray for the teachers to have hearts that are willing to learn. And, most of all, pray for the Nthawi ya Baibulo (Bibletime) books to be used to bring many to Christ.”

Note: There is great and growing interest in NYB across the country, but we are anxious that the resources be used wisely and carefully. Consequently, each prospective NYB group leader has to undergo training prior to receiving the materials. Read more here.

We are super-excited that the container with the Nthawi ya Baibulo (BibleTime) lessons and other literature is due to arrive in Thondwe today. As you give thanks for this, pray for safe arrival of the other 2 containers which are still en route and pray that the Lord will greatly use these resources for the blessing of many young people in Malawi.
