Pray

Please give thanks and pray as work re-starts on the dormitory construction project at Saidi. We had expected to be much further along at this stage, but an order of 30 Tons of cement was delayed by over a month due to the ongoing economic problems in Malawi. This meant the work of pouring foundations was delayed by several weeks.

Pray for the Lord’s hand in every detail of this project – not least that He will richly bless this step of faith to the spiritual upbuilding of many future Malawian evangelists, elders and Bible teachers.

Anna updates on the recovery of two men injured when knocked off a motorcycle in a hit and run accident near the site.

“It’s easy to post prayer requests and forget to then share how God has answered, so I just wanted to follow up on the men who I took to the hospital.

Yesterday one of them stopped by the site. He was the more banged up of the two and completely incoherent.

I’m happy to report, though, that he has healed well. I was worried about a closed head injury, but he seemed back to normal apart from a few scars.

He said the other one is fine, as well.

So, thank you for praying, and please continue to pray for their salvation!”

Please pray for John, one of the site workers at Saidi, who collapsed a couple of days ago and has been in hospital since.

Update: Give thanks! Goodson updated me yesterday (9 Feb) that Mr Chitenje has been discharged from hospital and is feeling much better. Thanks for praying.

The local planning officer from the DCs office has requested a meeting at the Saidi site today.

Please pray that this won’t last to any unnecessary difficulty complying with planning requirements.

Update

The meeting was uneventful and no undue burdens were placed in the development work.

Pray for preparations for our Open Day at Saidi on 20 November. We expect up to 500 people from the community may attend.

We plan to have contributions from the young people who attend the various Bible study groups, a traditional meal together, and one or two Gospel presentations

Please pray for a resolution to problems involving both our Toyota Landcruiser and Isuzu Pickup:

  • Stephen has sourced a reconditioned Brake Master Cylinder & Brake Booster which he plans to take to Malawi in November. Pray that it will arrive safely & that it will solve the braking issue
  • The Isuzu is still off the road having undergone an engine overhaul. The mechanic is very unresponsive to requests for an update.
